I am using 12wt thread on my 730e with a 90 top stitch needle. I am sewing stitch 1351 on a paper pieced project )needle book ). The seams mostly do not intersect to have more than three .

I am struggling with the thread... has anyone used this weight of thread for top stitching? Once the thread broke.... I am sewing slow and have a stablizer behind the project. About every 5-7th stitch the machine makes a low clicking sound. I have re-threaded, and taken in and out the bobbin to make sure it is set.Any suggestions or help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Possibly a bigger needle (100 or 110)? Worth a try

apologies in advance if you ahve already thought of or tried my suggestions already....

I suggest a cleaning and oiling AND.also popping the bobbin case housing out, removing the needle plate.to look for a small shred of thread. .Also,is your needle sharp/new enough?Good Luck, Naomi

I'd suggestyou change to 100 size needle. We had a Sulky representative at our Guild last Tuesday and this is what she recommended we use.

Sorry if this is a late reply, I'm reading/catching up this morning!
