Trish, I am so excited! The only time I prefer my Singer 301 to my B430 is when I need that foot. Having only a 1/8 inch on the right side makes it so much easier to see, turn and put in a delicate hem or top stitch on childrens sizes. I like the feel of my 430 so generally have tried to eyeball it with the 57 foot. Until now, that Singer foot was the only thing that I sorely missed about the 430. (oh yea, and the Singer original 301 cabinet!) I am going to add the #13 to my collection today. THANKS!

PS. My Singer 301 is also the one I learned on in the 50's! It has made Barbie doll collections for 4 generations now!

...Several years ago I saw a foot that I had used on my Singer back in the 50's when I first started sewing. It is the #13 straight stitch foot. The toe on the left is 1/4th inch and the right toe is only 1/8th inch. It makes doing the tiny seams much easier that the 1/4th inch foot. You can turn corners like those in the arm hole.

I believe that the inner part of the toe on the 37/57 foot is 1/8 inch.
