I just got a new Artista 640 this year and kept my Artista 170 qpe as my backup machine. In the past I used this machine for embroidery by use of a dongle from a computer to the machine. I never bought any blank cards for it as I didn't need them. Now I cannot use the dongle on my new computer, so my question is:

Can I still get blank cards for this machine? Does anyone know what I should be looking for? I bought the digitizing software when I got this machine and have many designs. I just need to know how to get them to the machine.

Of course, I can use the 640 and a usb, but would still like to know how to use the 170 in the future.

Make sense? I hope so.

You can buy a USB serial port adaptor and continue to connect the way you always have

You should be able to buy a serial to usb adapter so you can still

direct connect to your machine. You could also download the free

ArtLinkV6 program from BerninaUSA and that coupled with the serial to

USB adapter would enable you to get designs from your computer to your

machine.

As far as the blank cards go, I think you'll have some trouble finding a

Personal Design Card for the 170, except perhaps on eBay. You'd also

need a reader/writer box to be able to use the card with your computer.

Your other, perhaps more viable, option might be a Magic Box.
