Joan Hinds has a couple of wonderful books and patterns for 18 inch dolls (AG size). Very easy directions to follow as well. There is also a book from Nancy's Notions by Joan Hinds and Nancy Zieman called "30 minute doll clothes" that has 10 patterns in it and super easy directions. Kwik Sew pattern company also has some great patterns with multiple designs. one is 2921 and another is 3091. The two Joan Hinds books are "sew the Essential Wardrobe" (18 patterns) and the other is "Sew the Contemporary Wardrobe" (35 patterns). The books are a much better buy because of the number of patterns in them. The patterns are full size and use 1/4 inch seams. The Kwik Sew patterns also have multiple designs and full size patterns with very easy directions. KS is definitely better than any of the big 3 patterns for 18 inch dolls. Those three books and two patterns will keep you busy enough for a couple of years and your GD's dolls will be the best dressed anywhere. Have fun.

I agree. I used the 2 Joan Hinds books plus a pattern called After School Activities (or something!).

As an update to my original post about the doll clothes....the girls opened them on Saturday. The 6 year old, Alaina, took one look, popped up, ran to me and gave me a big hug!!

The only problem is, now she wants a leotard and cheer leading costume to match! Of course she'll get it.
