I've had my 730 for 5 years and it only had 5 minutes of sewing time and I took all the guide classes. I've just started to use it again and I'm a little challenged.

Is there a different setting for bobbin thread indicator? I checked settings after no warning the first time and it was off. I turned it on and still no warning.

And, is there a good video on where to oil the bobbin case? I can't see the place very well in the book. I've searched for videos and found one, but had to turn my laptop upside down and I'm still not sure.

Thanks so much.

The only warning for the lower thread sensor on the 730 is thatit "should" stop when it runs out of thread. There is no precursorwarning like there is on some of the newer models.

In Setup > Messages & Audio Settings make sure the volumeis high enough so the signal can be heard. You can test thespeaker on the first screen. However loud the cow is, is how loudyour audio signals should also be. Then on the second screen/page,make sure both the longer bar that reads "Lower Thread Control" isblue (or active) as well as that the Sound icon is blue. Intheory, doing both of these should give you an audio signal thatthere is an issue as well as a screen message. Everything in Setupmust be authorized by selecting OK at the bottom of the screenbefore you leave Setup. Finally, make sure the sensor is clean(black box that you see on the bobbin area door) and that you havethe bobbin inserted into the case correctly (it should turnclockwise as you pull the thread and are looking at the bobbin inthe case.) It sounds as if you've already done everything you canfor the lower thread sensor. It may need a technician's help.

This is a good resource for oiling: ---Links-Are-Forbidden--- hook>
