Did I imagine it, or did there used to be a way on the 200/730 to sew in sewing mode (not embroidery mode) without the foot pedal?

I *thought* I remembered doing that once when I forgot my foot pedal at class, but now I cant find the place to change the setting. Thanks!

Had a 240 then a 640, also now a 750 and they all had buttons on the front you could push and the machine would sew. I don't know what a 200 looks like, but I think the 730 had the button just above the reverse button?

BTW I had my 640 for years before I discovered I could start embroidering with the foot pedal.

I have a 730 machine and no, the 730 cannot sew without a foot pedal.

Except when using the BSR.

Thanks, Maryanne! It took me awhile to learn I could embroider with the foot pedal, too.

The 200 and 730 use the reverse button to start sewing in embroidery mode. I.ve tried to use that button to start sewing in sewing mode with no luck. Makes sense since you need that button for reverse sewing in sewing mode.

Thanks, Gayle and Kari, for clearing up my dim memory. It must have been on BSR night in class when I forgot my foot pedal but could still participate. Getting old and forgetting things is sure inconvenient! But y.all are my Borg memory out there, so I.m OK.

I never use the BSR so didn't even think about that.
