Hi All

Hope that someone can help me with a problem with my 200, it shreds

rayon thread when it is in embroidery mode all the time.

I have taken it to the tech who said that the timing was slightly out,

this has now been adjusted, but has not solved the problem and the

thread is still shredding, he has used Brother and Janome thread, and

also my Madeira. The tech has also looked for a burr but cannot find

one, he is at a loss to find out what the problem is.

Anyone have any ideas please.

Thanks

Geraldine

Are you using an embroidery needle 70/10 - 90/14? If your needle is not for embroidery or too small your needle itself will shread the thread.

A good place to look for the "shreader" is the needle bar guide (the one just at the needle clamp screw). You may have to explore back behind the guide with a small sewing pin. If thread is packed deep where you can't see it the thread you are attempting to sew with would have to go in that guide where it is being pinched. Some times when I dig there I get a rainbow of colors that have been just collecting.
