Thanks, everyone. Yes, Sue, you stack 4 layers of your fabric - just

like if you were doing a stack n whack. Based on the repeat and the

size you want your quilt, that's how you determine what size to cut

your squares (I think I cut mine at 5", but ended up trimming the

blocks down after they were joined). Then you have 4 identical squares

you can play with to determine which layout you like the best for your

block. I also staggered my layers so I didn't get identical blocks

from any of the rows.

Judy, I found the fabric at a little quilt shop in Spokane called Simpy

Kits. I am always drawn to fabrics with a black background and was

determined not to do another for a while - then I saw this fabric and

knew I had to do it :-)

I have the quilt all basted and am going to use my embroidery module to

quilt it - my first attempt at that. I can't wait to get started but

will be traveling a lot between now and Mother's Day, so it will have

to wait.

I found a really cool web site that has a bunch of 4-patch posies -

there are so many beautiful ones!

Ok, Sherry. You're getting blamed for this! ggg After seeing your 4-Patch

Posies, I emailed the photo to a couple of friends of mine. One lives in

Houston, about 3 1/2 hours from where the two of us live. We have been

planning to go to Houston to stay with our friend for about a week and do

some shop hopping of our own and maybe working on a project together.

Wellllllllll.....our project will be this quilt! I've been busy this

morning designing our quilt using Electric Quilt and getting the size where

we want it.

So, thank you, Sherry, for posting this photo!!! Also for the link for

other quilts like this.

I'm laughing. Sounds like a really fun time to me!!!

Question - what does "ggg" mean?

I asked my hubby to give me Electric Quilt for my birthday/Mother's

Day gift. Do you like it? Is it user friendly? Last year he

surprised me with a 730 - a gift he'll probably never be able to

top :-)

By the way, Sue, I have your web site saved in my Favorites - you do

incredibly beautiful work! I hope this summer I have time to really

work on learning my emb. machine.

ggg is giggling. And yes, when we three get together we have lots of fun

and many times lots of tears from laughing so much!!

I've had Electric Quilt since they were in the old DOS language! I really

like it. This latest EQ6, I'm still learning, but I can do the basics

really fast now. I think your hubby should get this for you. I can help

you spend his money...I'm very good at spending my hubby's! haha

Thanks so much for the compliment! I love teaching others to get the most

from their machines and providing a bit of inspiration. Many of my projects

are technique oriented for the Bernina Class I teach and a lot incorporate

embroidery.

hubby what you said LOL Hopefully, I'll have time soon to take one

of your online classes :-)

I did this pattern in a class last Spring. I used a party confetti for main squares as it was for my 11 year old GD. I'm relly not 'the' quilter...this was so fun and everyone's turned out so different. The photos aren't the greatest as I was in a hurry, quilt wasn't cleaned off nicely yet. I put the pics in 'Marilynne" folder.

Marilynne - what a fun quilt that must have been to work on! Very

nice! It must have been fun doing it in a class and seeing everyone

else's quilts, too.

Very tween friendly, Marilynne! Great job and I'm betting your GD loves it.

Thanks for sharing it with us.

I made one a Stacked Posies quilt and giving credit to the designer did purchase the pattern. I made it for a young bride. I'll see if I can attach the picture, or rather post it.

I love that! And the way you set your blocks is spectacular! It

really shows off the blocks!

I just put a couple of pictures on of the one I made last year.

Unfortunately I can't find the outdoors pictures of it -hanging on the

clothes line. I had outlined the cats in the border with metallic

thread, Sliver to be exact. THAT was a chore. Fabric was found at

www.thequiltstudio.com. --- In 430_440_630_640_730@yahoogroups.com,

Cheryl, the Stacked Posies quilt is very pretty. Gives a whole new

perspective to the quilt. Lucky bride who received it. Thanks for sharing.
