OK, all the discussion about multiple machines has me thinkingI need (want) another machine. (dont tell DH, he thinks Im alreadyover indulged with Bernina equipment) I checked out the different machine on theBernina site and for the life of me (even using the comparison chart) could notfigure out the difference in the 430 and 440. And what is the difference in theQEE, QE, and the plain 440 or 430? I have an upgraded 200 to the 730 with the BSR,USB, and embroidery module. I have Designer Plus V5 software. I would love to sewon another machine while I embroidery on my 730. Will my BSR work with either the440 or 430? Will my software work with the 430 or 440 if by chance I wanted to attachthe embroidery module? What is EC on PC? Is this a requirement to use the embroiderymodule with the 440 or 430? Thanks, hope the questions are not too elementary, butIm totally confused! I guess I could go to my dealer and ask these questionsbut they are a good distance from home. Betty J

I believe basically you'll find that the 430 is a stripped down

version of the 440.

The 430 is the basic machine.

The 440QE is the Quilters Edition - offers a set of stitches deemedusable for quilting. Also comes with the walking foot and BSRattachment.

The 440QEE is a 440 with the embroidery attachment.

With the exception of the extra stitches, you can add toys to the 430to make it do everything that the 440QE or the 440QEE do.-- Jerry Jankura Strongsville, Ohio So many toys.... So little time

I think of the 430 as the model to customize. You can add the parts

you need and ignore the others. I think it is really rather

cool...as it can grow with your needs and interests!

Check at your local dealer because there are some special prices coming up - in our area, June 2nd, but it may be different where you live. This is in honor of Bernina's 75th anniversary. Marcia
