I really need advice. I bought a front loading washer from Sears five years

ago and was very happy with it. But the last week or two it was making

terrible noises when in the spin cycle. We had a repairman come to look at it. The

ball bearings or tumbler or whatever are shot and the repair bill will begin

at six hundred dollars or we could buy a new machine. There's only the two of

us so it hasn't gotten a great deal of use.

So what machine should I buy? My budget is limited. (I was saving for an

830). I need something reliable that won't break the bank. Does such a thing

exist? Any suggestions? Marsha M

Go to the Garden Web site and find their laundry forum, really they do

have one, LOL. Use a throw away email address when you join, they

spawn spam, and I mean a lot of spam.

My husband and I bought a Fisher and Paykel. They are supposed to last

for 20 years.....5 years and going strong. My sister says go to a

used appliance store and buy one cheap and throw away when it breaks or

sell it back

It seeems that seems. to be the up and coming good guy.. We have a friend with this set and loves it. Guess I would starat there if I were getting one again.. The dryer is amazing the way it is built.. It is a top loader-not front loader.

One of the Samsung models rated really high with Consumer Reports. If

you need to know which one, email me directly and I'll look it up. I

do agree with the used one though.
