Hi,

If you're concerned about the spot where you attach the strap looking

ugly, then make it into something decorative. You can anchor your strap

to the OUTSIDE of the purse, and then cover the spot with a decorative

button, group of buttons, beaded button, coil of pretty cording, etc.

If you like, then you can add a tassel of pretty beads, a store bought

tassel, etc.

If your purse has a flap, repeat the decorative element on the lowest

point of the flap for more decoration and continuity.

As for the purse itself, it can be a simple envelope, or more complex.

I'll look for some links. If you knit or crochet, and have access to

wool, felted knit or crocheted bags are all the rage. You knit them big

and sloppy on big needles, assemble the bag, and then wash in hot water

and a little detergent until the bag shrinks up and becomes firm. Lots

of fun and a great project for beginning knitters.

Hope this helps.

Janet
