I remember in high school I had this hemp neclace choker (ok, barely

remember it) and I got this nifty lil rash on my neck. I tried wearing

it once more, but the same happened and after that it was out of my

life.

I like the look of hemp, and versitality of it. Could it have been

that I had gotten ahold of a cheap hemp choker? Is there better

quality stuff I could use in stuff I make? And does anyone know about

hemp clothing here, like if I might have the same kinda reaction?

Thanks,

~Kris

have you tried going to your LBS and checking on the hemp they offer

for beading? perhaps by "feeling" today's hemp you could possibly tell

if it appears as "scratchy" and irritating as the old stuff was.

I would suggest you could make a bracelet or choker as a test. the

after you make it wash it with some mild soad. its a very durable

fiber and gets softer with washing. If the fibers were a bit stiff and

prickly or had some other irritant on them that may have been the

reason for your rash.
