I have recently installed a DZ120 decoder and am having some

difficulties with it. I have tried everything I can to get the speed

table to function. Actually, I really only need the Start, Mid, and

Max. But, these are not working either. No matter what I try, the

top-end speed is always the same .. factory default (full voltage).

I have programmed several other decoders, so I know that my setup

works. I am using a Zephyr with a Loco-Buffer and Decoder-Pro.

Are there some tricks to setting up this decoder?

Has there been a bad batch of DZ120 decoders been released? (And, I

just happen to get one .. the Mfg and ID CV's do read back as

Zeros)

Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

FYI: I read on some other thread about someone with a DZ120 having

problems with the Engine automatically starting to move when power

was applied to the track. If I set my DZ120 to 4 digit addressing,

it too does this same thing. But, appears to behave when setup for 2

digit addressing. Very strange .. makes me believe it is a faulty

decoder (or at least one with some major firmware bugs).

The DZ120 does not support mid (CV6) and max (CV5) voltage CV's when running

in 128 speed steps (which is the Zephyr default). Do a status edit to use

28 speed step and mid and max voltage CV's will work. Start voltage (CV2)

is the only one that works in 128 speed step. The same applies to the 28

step user speed table (CV67-94), it works in 28 SS but not in 128 SS.
