This is a recent project using a Tangent flatcar and craftmatch sticks for the load. The supporting lumber is scale 4x4s. Only about onematch stick in five was good enough to use for the load, but they are verycheap. These can be purchased a Wal-Mart and Michael.s.

Since my flatcar has a build date stenciled for the year Iam modeling I took restraint in weathering its deck.

Tony Thompson had several good blogs on weathering flatcardecks, making lumber loads and using lumber load kits:

---Links-Are-Forbidden--- next lumber load project will use a gondola.

I know that the original thread was about lumber loads on flats but I found this article about Higgins boat loading on flat cars.Michael Bishop

Modeling the ATSF 4th District LA Division: LCVP flatcar... For another modeling project I was researching Higgins Industries and their famous Landing Craft aka Higgins Boats.
