I am searching for ancestors of William Barron:

Christened 11 April, 1802 at Echt, Aberdeen, Scotland, & his

parents were William Barron and Jean Gordon but I can find

nothing about Wm Sr, or Jean Gordon....

William Jr was a millwright, married Ann Phillips Lumsden in

1830, on the Lumsden Estate "Belhelvie" in the Parish of St

Nicholas, came to Canada to St. Mary's, Ontario in 1842. There

were 10 children, my maternal grandmother, Alice Elspeth,

being the last born.

William had a brother James, also Christened at Echt, May 12,

1805, & a sister Elspeth but I've no information as to where

she was Christened. She married Alexander Beverly, a

blacksmith, had five children and lived near the city of

Aberdeen.

I have quite a bit of information on Barron's which I

received from another researcher but have not personally

verified. I have nothing more on William Barron and Jean

Gordon than their marriage but can tell you about his

parents and siblings.

Parents were Robert Barron, b. 1721 d. 1792 in Echt, and

Elizabeth Donald b. 1731 in Kintore d. 1790 in Echt

- married 1752.

Robert and Elizabeth had 9 children:

- Ann b. 1753 died as an infant

- William. b. 1755 in Echt d. 1832 in Skene, married

Jean Gordon in 1799 and Elspet Reid in 1806

- Robert b. 1757 Echt d. 1813 Blackadams of Echt, married

Margaret Fowler in 1794

- Elizabeth b. 1759

- Margaret b. 1761 died as an infant

- James b. 1765

- George b. 1767 Echt d. 1858 Midtown of Cullerlie Echt

married Anne Fowler 1804 and had 8 children

- Mary b. 1770 Echt married James Cooper 1794 in Echt and

had 5 children

- John b. 1773 in Echt.

I'd be very interested in sharing information. Robert

Barron and Elizabeth Donald are my 5XG grandparents.

Barbara
