Hi everyone,

I don't know if you have heard of this site. Several months

ago I read about it on some Yorkshire lists. It's a site

that you enter details of your ancestors or blood relatives

( siblings, cousins etc of your ancestors), as they appear

on the 1881 census (there is a place to put additional info

like maiden name or the name on the census shows as Eliza &

it's really Alision, or the real age of the person).

If it finds a match with someone who has put in exactly the

same person as you, you can then contact each other. The

guy on the YKS list asked if anyone wanted a referral to

join this site, I waited a few weeks as he got swamped with

replies, he never got back to me.

I never followed it up but just read two articles on it in

some family history mags, so have joined. The site covers

the 1881 census for Scotland, Wales and England. It's free

to join. Sometime next year they may add a "full" membership

fee, that will give additional benefits to those who pay

compared to the free loaders.

If you wish me to provide you with a referral code, please

email me.

Cheers,

John Dods
