I was playing with some RY30 (drum machine) / RM50 (YBB rack version) drum samples recently and was really blown away. I'd never heard of this box before but searched for info and found many reviews putting these, and especially the RM50, as the be-all, end-all of percussion units, which seems appropriate to me.

The TG77, an outstanding synthesizer in its own right, originates from about the same era and I've read that they can take the same waveform cards. The thing is, the TG77's drums don't sound nearly as impressive as the RM50's, at least the way I've been hearing them.

How can I get those incredible drums into a 77's brain or can this not be done? Why is there such a huge difference in sound between the two? Also, were the TG77's drums taken from or very similar to another RX or RY machine or were they made custom for that project?
